Registration

All registration to be done at M WORKSHOP from 1st May 2012 till 30th Sep 2012

 

Registration Fee

  • $40/person

Entries Submission

  • Simply bring your entries to the event venue on:
 

-1st Nov 2012 from 12pm – 7pm

Late entries will not be accepted.

Number of Entries for Competition

  • Participants may submit up to a maximum of 5 entries only.

Entries specification

  • Participants are encouraged to submit their entries in a plastic display case for protection and presentation.
  • Models are to be secure to the base if there is any.

Prize Presentation

  • Date: 4 th Nov 2012
  • Time: 4pm – 6pm
  • Participants are highly encouraged to attend the prize presentation ceremony.
  • Please make arrangements to be represented if you are unable to attend.
  • Participants are to collect back their entries with their collection slips after the prize presentation on the same day.
  • All unclaimed models will be disposed of, at the sole discretion of the organizers.

A - General Rules (All Categories)

M CON welcomes participants from all countries.

All submitted entries can be made from kits of any brands, purchased from any retailer.

Kit-bashed and scratch-built models are allowed.

Modifications and conversions are allowed, including the use of other manufacturers' products.
(e.g. new decals, figures, diorama materials or photo-etch, detail sets etc)

All entries must be wholly constructed and finished by the participant.

Competition entries must be submitted by the participant or his representative during the Submission period.

All entries must be submitted at the contest venue at the time stated.

Latecomers will not be entertained.

Models entered in previous M CON and Tamiya Modeling Competitions are not eligible for participation in M CON 2012 Competition.

Models previously submitted to other competitions are allowed to take part in M CON 2012.

Nude, provocative or offensive subjects are prohibited.

The organizers reserve the right to disqualify an entry for violating the rules and regulations.

The organizers may merge or split categories without prior notice.

The organizers reserve the right to shift an entry to a more appropriate category without prior notice.

All decisions and judging results are final.

The organizers reserve the rights to use the photographs of the entries for publicity purposes.

Main Committee members and Judges may take part in M CON and will ONLY qualify for M CON Awards. No sponsored awards will be awarded.

Judges can only take part in categories that they are not judging.

 

B - Additional Rules Applied to the Garage Kit Category

Rules in Section A apply.

Participants are only allowed maximum of 3 entries for this category. (NEW - updated on15 Apr 2012)

The figure must be in resin.

Only one figure will be judged and other elements will be judge as presentation.

The figure must be at least in 1/6 scale and above.

Scratch building of existing resin figure is encouraged.

No nudity is allowed for the figure.

 

C - Notes on Junior Category

Eligible for modellers 18 years and younger.

Judges can push a Junior entry to the main category if the standard is sufficiently high.

 

D - Notes

Submitted models may be handled by Organizers and Judges during the event.

The Organizers will not be held liable for any loss or damage to displayed models during the event.

These Rules are subjected to change in any shape or form without prior notice. Please refer to this page for the latest updates. By submitting any contest entries, you agree to be bound by all of these rules and regulations.

Prizes cannot be exchanged for cash.

M CON AWARD

Objective

To improve the standard of scale modeling in Singapore.
Judged by Professional modellers and past competition winners.
Since the purpose is to improve the standard of modeling in Singapore, the judging will not be lenient.
***Collar Pins*** will only be issued to GOLD, SILVER or BRONZE winners.
There will be no monetary benefit for M CON Awards as we hope participants can be motivated for prestige purpose.


Open Judging System

There will be no limit to the number of winners in every category.
Winners are chosen according to their personal result.
Entries are judged according to, Workmanship, Finishing, Presentation, and in some categories, Creativity and Attention to details.
In this contest, "every contestant is their own competitor".
We hope to improve individual modeling skills through such judging methods.

Highest Award Achieved

Regardless of the number of entries a participant takes part in a single Category, he or she will be only issued with the highest award achieved.

For example:
A modeller submits 3 entries in Armour, 1/35 and larger

He scores
2 Silvers and 1 Gold

He will receive
M CON GOLD Award in Armour, 1/35 and larger

Highest Award Achieved (Monetary awards only)

Regardless of the number of entries a participant takes part in a single Category, he or she will be only issued with the highest award achieved.

For example: A modeller submits 3 entries in Armour, 1/35 and larger. He scores 1 GRAND WINNER and 2 MERIT, he will receive only the GRAND WINNER AWARD.

If he scores 3 MERIT, he will receive only 1 MERIT award.
