About

Flashing back to my childhood in Upper Boon Keng, the crowded stationary/model shop is the place where I got my first model kit. It was the Tamiya US Personnel Carrier M113. It was really fun to build and I also hand painted it with Tamiya acrylic paints. Despite the brush stroked finishing, I was quite happy and continued building more models. In 1990, I submitted a motorcycle "Kawaski" and a car "BMW" for the Tamiya modelling competition held in Marina Square. It was my first competition and I was excited to see models built by kids like myself, by amateurs and by professional modellers. I aspired to build nice models like the professional modellers, but did not have a chance to learn the proper techniques then.

In October 2007, I had a great opportunity to embark on M Workshop basic modelling training (BMT) conducted by my two masters, Bernard aka Stone5 and Soon Tuck aka Viper. I would like to express my gratitude to them for imparting and guiding me in using the correct techniques to build, paint and weather armour tanks. In March 2008, I continued to learn from Bernard in my intermediate modelling training (IMT). My greatest thanks to Bernard for being patience and continuing to coach me in grasping the colour application and weathering techniques. It took me months and many less satisfactory projects before I finally grasp these techniques. Every project is a learning and improving experience for me. Modelling has become an important part of my life. Everyday, I look forward to spend time modelling.
